Meet the LPS Staff
– Have a local, state and federal background check completed before hire
– Are CPR and First Aid certified and are current in this certification
– Have completed the required DCF 45 hour Childcare Courses and at least 10 hours of in-service training per year.
– Are trained how to recognize and report child abuse and are mandatory reporters.
Jennifer Lange – Director and PreK (VPK) Teacher
Jennifer is the mother of two children (son 23, daughter 19) and has lived in Naples with her husband for over 24 years. She has been the owner of LPS for over 21 years having worked with the previous owner for 1 year. The 2018-2019 school year will be Ms. Jen’s 22nd school year at LPS. Jen has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Penn State University (WE ARE …) and was certified to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade in Pennsylvania. She also has earned an Advanced Level Director’s Credential and holds a Child Development Associates Degree Waiver from Edison Community College. She has more than 260 hours of continuing education in the area of early childhood education and related curriculum areas to include preschool administration. Jennifer is an active volunteer in our community. She has been a Collier County Parks and Recreation Cheerleading coach and team sponsor. She also is an active JDRF volunteer, past JDRF Hope Gala Chair and past JDRF board member where she has had direct experience raising over $6 million for diabetes research. Jennifer is also a past Board Member of The Early Learning Coalition of SWFL. Before her hire as a teacher at LPS 20 some years ago, she worked in the Collier County Public Schools as a substitute teacher. Jennifer brings a unique perspective to LPS as she has built a successful program on what she knows to be important for children not only as a trained educator but also as an experienced mom and step-mom. She believes in making learning exciting and purposeful while keeping in mind the fun traditions of the families who attend our school. This school year will mark Jen’s 13th year of VPK participation.
Jaclyn Cardillo – VPK Teacher’s Assistant
Jaclyn is the mother of two terrific kiddos ages (16 and 14) both of whom previously attended LPS. She is also the guardian to her two year old nephew. This will be her eleventh year on the LPS staff. Jaclyn has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies/Psychology from FL Gulf Coast University (GO EAGLES!) Jaclyn’s psychology background comes in handy helping to balance out our staff’s knowledge base. She has been involved with the community as cub-scout leader and devoted NPE parent volunteer. After 8 years as the Naples Park Elementary PTO President Ms. Jaclyn has finally relinquished her post. Jaclyn’s can-do attitude allows her the ability to handle whatever comes her way. She has proven to be an excellent disciplinarian using positive reinforcement to help each child meet success in the classroom. Jaclyn has previous preschool and tutoring experience and has over 130 hours of continuing education in the area of early childhood education with a focus on VPK literacy and standards for four year olds.
Dara Baer – Preschool Three’s turning Four Teacher
Dara is from NY originally but she has been in Florida for over 9 years. She is joining us with over 15 years of experience working with children. Dara has earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Child Science from the Florida State University (GO NOLES!) She comes to us very well rounded in the early childhood industry as she has experience not only as a classroom teacher but also has experience in supervisory positions where she has directed staff, volunteers and over 150 students. One of Ms. Dara’s favorite jobs has been working with children from birth to middle school as a certified nanny with several local families. Her developmental education and early childhood experiences coupled with her patience and understanding give her the ability to think flexibly in all types of situations and circumstances with preschool aged children. She is an excellent communicator and loves that she will have an opportunity to use her creativity in developing lessons and projects for our Threes turning Fours. Ms. Dara is a 10 year volunteer veteran with Nick Camp, which is a charity that raises money for children with cancer to be able to attend summer camp. Ms. Dara loves working with children and very much looks forward to meeting your little ones and getting to know her classroom parents.
Adriana Matos – Preschool Two’s Teacher
This will be Adriana’s fourth year as the lead two’s teacher at LPS. Ms. Adriana comes to us with direct experience working with preschool aged children and more specifically twos and threes! Adriana has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Family Welfare and has also received her DCF Staff Credential for her studies in Early Childhood Development. Her love of children and desire to see and help all children learn to the best of their abilities makes her the perfect Preschool Two’s turning Three teacher. Her formal schooling provides her with a well-rounded developmental education in addition to her more than 90 hours of continuing education in the area of preschool education add to her innate love of nurturing and helping a child meet their fullest potential. Ms. Adri’s energy and patience help to create a loving, learning atmosphere. Ms. Adriana has also completed the course work to earn her Florida Director’s Credential.
Norma Mendez – Preschool Assistant
Norma recently graduated from Naples High School where she was able to take classes in Early Childhood Education while working hands-on with the children in the onsite preschool there. Norma earned a Child Development Associates degree and has come to us with the highest recommendations from her program advisor. Currently Ms. Norma is attending Florida South Western working toward a dual degree in Early Education and Psychology Ms. Norma is soft spoken and is incredibly kind and patient and very much enjoys working hands on with the little ones. Her calm, easy-going demeanor balances the excitement in the classroom.
Emily Iverson – Preschool Assistant
Ms. Emily is also a Naples High School grad where she earned her Child Development Associates degree. She also comes to LPS with highest recommendations from the Naples High CDA program advisor. Emily is currently attending Florida South Western where she is working toward a degree in Nursing. Emily’s bubbly personality, caring attitude and affinity for helping little ones to learn combine to make her an asset to our LPS team.
